International Journal of Racket Sports Science is an Open Access online journal, which publishes original research articles, reviews and letters in all areas related with Racket Sports. The journal aims to provide the most complete and reliable source of information on current developments in the field. The emphasis will be on publishing quality articles. This journal uses DOI provided by Digibug, to identify its articles.
Aims & Scope
To disseminate knowledge through the publishing of original scientific articles relevant to racket sports that use a comprehensive, disciplinary or multidisciplinary approach to foster debate and inform practice in the racket sports community. The journal targets an audience of professors, researchers, professionals, and students of physical education, sports and leisure.
The Journal is guided on the following principles:
- The democratization of thought and scientific space;
- Methodological rigor;
- Truthfulness of the facts;
- Exercise critical thinking;
- Ethical precepts and prevalent in society;
- Social relevance of the topics, issues and contents.
The International Journal of Racket Sports Science does not have article processing charges (APC). This journal is fully sponsored, since its creation, by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the University of Granada (UGR).

Publication Frequency
Each year, a single volume is published in electronic version with two bianual numbers. The publication dates of each issue are as follows:

No. 2 – July - December
Peer review process
All manuscripts received will be reviewed in the first instance by the chief editors, associate editors and / or section editors, who will decide whether the article follows the editorial line of the Journal and whether it meets the formal requirements established in the authors’ regulations.
Manuscripts that do not comply with these formal characteristics will be returned to their authors to adapt the manuscript to current regulations, and those who do not follow the editorial line will be rejected for publication in the Journal. The Editor-in-Chief will be in charge of this notification.
Papers that present a correct adaptation to the current regulations and that follow the editorial line of the Journal will be sent anonymously to two external reviewers of the Journal for review.
All articles received (except letters to the Editor) will be reviewed through a double-blind peer review system, made by external reviewers.
The article review process is done with the Open Journal System (OJS) software that guarantees automated and auditable electronic registration of all interactions. It is a transparent process, which enables the improvement of texts when their publication is viable.
Based on the peer reviewers' reports, the editor-in-chief will decide whether or not to publish the work, and may ask the authors to clarify some points or modify different aspects of the manuscript. In this case, the author has a maximum period of one month to submit a new version with the proposed changes. After this period, if a new version has not been received, the article will be considered withdrawn.
IJRSS Review process
The review criteria are as follows: originality, novelty, topicality, interest, quality and methodological rigor and relevance.
The articles may be rejected, accepted with modifications or accepted without modification:
- In case of requesting minor changes, the manuscript will be accepted as soon as it includes the modifications requested, with no need for further revisions.
- In case of major changes, the manuscript with modifications will be evaluated by one of the first reviewers with the aim of giving greater coherence and fluidity to the process. This new revision will last for a maximum of 30 days.
- In case of rejection, it will be at editorial discretion the possibility of accepting a new submission of the modified manuscript or its definitive rejection.
The average review time will be between 60 and 90 days. Once the deadline has expired, the publisher will undertake to send a resolution to the author of the article.
Accepted papers will be assigned and published in the first issue of the available Journal and according to the needs of the Journal. Authors will know this information and the date of publication at the time of acceptance.
Publication Ethics
International Journal of Racket Sports Science takes reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among others. In no case shall IJRSS and/or its editors encourage such misconduct, or knowingly allow such misconduct to take place. In the event that a journal’s publisher or IJRSS editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct relating to a published article in our journal, IJRSS shall follow COPE’s guidelines in dealing with allegations.
International Journal of Racket Sports Science submits all its articles to plagiarism detection and prevention software Turnitin.
IJRSS follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in Publication Ethics to avoid misconduct in publication and ensure procedures and articles meet the expected quality criteria.
The following are considered misconduct and grounds for rejection of the manuscript at any stage of the publication process:
- Redundant publication
- Plagiarism
- Falsification of data (photographs, statistics, graphs, etc.)
Falsification of information (authors' affiliation, signatures, etc.)
Impersonation and falsification of authorship
Open Access Policy
International Journal of Racket Sports Science is an open-access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
In accordance with the open access policy described above, subscriptions to IJRSS are completely free of charge.

Interoperability protocols
